Tans in Macau (Day 2 - 3 June 2015)

When we arrived the day before, we have already been informed that no hotels in Macau have Breakfast buffets. Reading from travel blogs, I have also read that it is going to be quite difficult to find places for breakfast as most of them will only open after 10am.

So we decided to call for room service on our first morning. And in the end, we order more than we could fill out stomachs, at a heavy price. Yes, yes, no wonder Daddy's face looks like this in the morning. Hee hee.

We headed out shortly after our hearty, heavy breakfast. Haha, at least the heavy breakfast wasn't going to waste... since there's going to be lots of walking to do today. It was a great idea to have been charged up powerfully in the morning!

We took a taxi from the hotel to go to Senado Square.

And past by the Macao Tower... which you will get to learn about what I did shortly....

Love the architecture that are preserved beautifully and painted with bright colours.

And notice, the same kind of lamp-posts with hanging flower pots are everywhere along the Macao streets.

These floor tiles are also the Portuguese style floorings that are frequently sighted everywhere in Macau.

We were there quite early and most of the shops were not opened yet.

Deborah looks short here cos I was standing on steps taking this picture of her.

We came to the St. Dominic's Church and had a walk inside to view the displays. But honestly, it feels quite creepy in there. We came to some skeletons and skull-heads that were on display and I decided to take my leave, cos it did not feel like I was visiting a sacred place of worship to me.

We continue to walk and follow some very clear direction signs to get to the Ruins of St Paul's Cathedral.

Without our selfie stick, we were trying out best to get the best shot with the famous site.

And finally, we got the best shot of the day!

View from behind the façade wall.

Just beside the Ruins of St Paul, there is a steep slope where you can walk down to the nearest washroom. But be warn... after visiting the washroom, you will need to climb back up if you are heading to the Macau Fortress and Macau Museum. Cos that's what happened to us... hahaha... panting all the way up the fortress.

The tired faces...David was already protesting when I told him we were going up the fortress on steps.

Well, it was all worth it. All the grumblings cease when they saw the canons and the great view from the fortress.

The Grand Lisboa in the background.

And our next destination was in the background too.. The Macau Tower.

The Macau Museum just behind us in the picture. You will need to pay to get in.

The weather was extremely hot. We stopped by a café at the Museum to grab a drink. Asked for a coke and was given this can... Hmh. didn't know I look like a fashionista...

After a short rest, to our next destination... Jia You!!

We walked through some valleys before we managed to get to the main road and hailed for a taxi. We decided to head straight to an indoor place, Macau Tower, as the weather was already scorching hot at this time, even though the time was about 11am only.

Something (or someone) amused us quite a lot as we entered the ticketing area to get up the tower.

Yes, I did the Skywalk at Macau Tower at 233 metres, 58-storey high.

After that, we went down to Basement level for lunch at a café.

And took a walk outdoors where you could actually see all three bridges that links from Taipa to Macau Island.

Then we took a free shuttle bus from Macau Tower back to City of Dreams where our hotel is located.

It will be an unforgettable place and experience for me. Not sure if I will ever have the courage to try bungee jump from that height.

Next, we headed to The Venetian Macao...

Inside at the hotel lobby.

At the Shoppes at Grand Canal

The kiddos and I insisted in unison that we must ride the gondola, and daddy gave in.
A-hem, this is definitely not the same as the one you get in Singapore at MBS. That's sampan ride.

This lady who rowed the gondola is from Spain. Her mother is from Venetian and her father is a Spanish. She sang so well, entertained us during the ride and made us take some really memorable photos.

As you can see, we enjoyed the ride thoroughly.

After that, we went for a tea break... crossing over the bridge, we came to the famous Portuguese eggs tarts from Lord Stow's Bakery.

Yes, it tastes excellent. Deborah had two and we came back for more on our last day, since we were staying just across the street.

We walked to the food court at the Venetian and found this franchise. But we actually find the pork bun there too dry. Kind of sad we did not get to try the authentic one though.

We packet some food for dinner back to the hotel, as the kiddos were asking us repeatedly if they would get a chance to soak in the bath tub. So we granted them their wishes.
